Kolber is a native of Pennsylvania, received her master's in the University of Miami. Kolber started her career in New York City as a CBS Sports video coordinator. She was awarded the Sports Emmy in Miami during her time working at WTVJ-TV. She has also worked as an anchor for WPLG-TV Miami, and WPEC-TV West Palm Beach. She joined ESPN in 1993, and was one of the anchors for ESPN2 which was launched. She was with ESPN2 till Fox Sports hired her.
