Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has worked as a chef, TV personality in the United States as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her signature spiky blonde locks and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, provides an easy and straightforward cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. Chef Burrell worked for a time in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary tradition and its landscape. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. While growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food at a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step when she earned an Associate of Arts degree in English and Communication from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable learning experience for me. It was difficult to master how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduating of the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners, Chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy learning and working in La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin rating in Tuscany. While in Italy she grew to truly comprehend and appreciate the philosophy of Italian culinary and cultural traditions that made a lasting impression in her perspective. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of struggling children. Burrell is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation celebrity advocate in which she has a mission to raise awareness for juvenile diabetics. As a guest speaker and teacher she travels across the United States to discuss her culinary passion and professional career. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has always said I feel very fortunate to share what I love most in life with others.
